Investigation Oversight: Review progress of important/under-investigation cases. Ensure timely and fair investigations. A Superintendent of Police (Regional Investigation) often assists the RPO in this area.
Discipline & Training: Maintain discipline, efficiency, and training standards of police personnel in the region. Conduct performance reviews and take action against negligence or misconduct.
Security Arrangements: Plan and supervise high-security duties, VIP movements, and special operations (e.g., anti-terror or search operations in border/katcha areas).
